GOOG: SEE CHART GET CHAIN

Gets Morgan Stanley Upgrade

The search giant is up more than $8 this morning after announcing that it would cut about 4,000 workers from its Motorola Mobility subsidiary, about 20 percent of the cellphone company's workforce. Google also received an upgrade at Morgan Stanley to "overweight" from "equal weight." GOOG is up 1.25 percent to $650 in pre-market trading.


Galena Spikes Higher on Patent

The small-cap biopharmaceutical company said this morning that it is issuing a patent on Folate Binding Protein peptide variants to be used in cancer vaccines in Japan. The firm also said results from clinical testing are on schedule for 2013. GALE is up nearly 11.5 percent to $1.66 on tradeMONSTER's extended-hours platform.
