Earnings Beat In Second Quarterly Release
Splunk, a data-mining software company, reported a second-quarter loss of $0.01 a share, better than the $0.04 feared by analysts. Revenue of $44.5 million also beat the $39.84 million consensus number. SPLK, which went public in April, jumps 15 percent before the bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.
OmniVision Revenue Strong Once Again
OmniVision Technologies had revenue of $258.1 million in the second quarter, beating the $243.8 million estimate. Profit missed by a penny but guidance was strong, sending OVTI higher by 10 percent in early trading.
Profit Worries Haunt Zumiez
Zumiez beat expectations, but the outlook was weak. Third-quarter profit will be $0.42 to $0.45 a share, well below the $0.56 consensus estimate. The revenue guidance was inline, so there are clearly some margin pressures at work! ZUMZ falls more than 11 percent in the premarket.
Saic Pops on Breakup Plan
Government contractor Saic plans to split into two companies to win more business. In addition to the spinoff, revenue beat expectations while profit missed. SAI advances 8 percent in the pre.
